Of all of the planet’s landmass that occurs in areas considered tropical or subtropical, 40% of it is dedicated to forests. Of this forest land, dry forest makes up 42%, more than moist forests (33%) or wet/rainforests (25%).
Africa and tropical islands show the greatest percentage of dry forests (70-80% of forests there are tropical dry forests, where only 22% of South American forests and 50% of Central American forests are considered dry forests). [3]. |
